Some key highlights from the interview:
– Leaf Resources uses pine stumps and low value wood. The pine stumps comprise approximately 35% of the whole tree, and cannot be used by paper plants or saw mills due to being highly resinous.
– No chemicals are used to extract pine chemicals, ensuring end products contain no unnatural residue.
– Since trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, remnants of carbon remain in tree fibres when they are made into products. By utilising wood over fossil fuel-based materials, Leaf Resources are contributing to the fight against global warming.
